PENFIELD- The 57th Annual Polar Bear Scouting event put on by Bucktail Council at Camp Mountain Run in Penfield Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 18.

The event has the scouts arrive Friday night and sleep outside in tents.  On Saturday morning they load their sleds with the gear needed to compete in ten events.  These events test their scouting skills in fire building, first aid, knots and lashings, wilderness survival, tree and plant identification, rifle shooting, orienteering, teamwork skills, and knowledge of scouting trivia.

Troop 2 Boy Scout troop, sponsored by the Clearfield Presbyterian Church, took two patrols to the event to compete against 18 patrols.  Each patrol placed in several of the 10 events.   The Brotherhood of Steel took 1st place overall and the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) took 2nd place overall.
