HARRISBURG — Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) and Rep. Mike Armanini (R-75) today announced more than $1.5 million in state funding to support key water and road projects in Clearfield County.

Awarded funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) PA Small Water and Sewer Program are the Sandy Township Municipal Authority, which will receive $391,000 for the Jefferson Avenue waterline replacement project; and the City of DuBois, which will receive $62,044 to improve security at the DuBois Water Plant.

“Access to safe, reliable drinking water is critical to ensuring healthy, thriving communities, and the infrastructure requires constant, often costly, maintenance,” said Langerholc. “I’m pleased to work with Rep. Armanini to secure funding for these projects to benefit the residents of Clearfield County.”

“Small Water and Sewer grants are essential for maintaining the health and safety of our communities,” Armanini said. “These funds allow municipalities to upgrade aging systems, prevent costly failures, and ensure clean water for families and businesses. In rural areas like ours, where resources are limited, this support is critical to protecting public health and fostering economic growth.”

The lawmakers announced the following transportation projects are receiving funding through CFA’s Multimodal Transportation Fund:

  • Curwensville Borough – $169,239 to pave Ridge Avenue and Lippert Street.
  • Huston Township – $202,390 to repave Laurel Run Road.
  • Mahaffey Borough – $218,462 to repave multiple roadways.
  • Pike Township, in cooperation with Pine Township – $271,707 to pave a wearing course on Greenwood Road.
  • Union Township Road District – $193,915 to repair a section of North Continental Drive.

“Properly maintained roads are key to safety and traffic flow, and these grants will help communities do this important work without burdening local taxpayers,” Langerholc said.

“Collaboration between state and local governments to improve transportation infrastructure in the Commonwealth is critical,” shared Armanini. “I am proud to have worked with Sen. Langerholc and our local officials to deliver critical funding to make our roads safer.”

The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
