CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Seneca Rocks Audubon Society announced it is seeking applicants for a professional development scholarship to attend the “Sharing Nature: An Educator’s Week” program in Bremen, Maine.
The scholarship is open to elementary and secondary teachers. Other adult environmental educators living in Clarion, Forest, and Jefferson counties are also eligible to apply. The society reported that the award covers 100% of the costs for the course, room, and board. According to the program details, the selected recipient will be responsible for their own travel expenses. The week-long session is scheduled for August 9 through August 14, 2026.
According to the society, the 2025 scholarship recipient was Brianna Lauer, a biology teacher and outdoor club advisor at Union School District. Lauer described the experience as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that allowed her to gain knowledge and connections to bring back to her students. She stated that the camp was friendly, welcoming, and inclusive.
The deadline to submit an application is February 22. The society says it will announce the successful applicant on March 1. Interested educators can find the application and detailed program descriptions on the chapter’s website at senecarocksaudubon.org.
