BELLEFONTE — The second half of the 2025-2026 season for the Clearfield Bison began exactly how the first half ended, with a road trip. The fourth of five-straight games away from the high school meant a trip east on the interstate to Bellefonte for a contest against the Red Raiders.
As has been the case all year for Clearfield, the fast start has proven to be the difference maker for this year’s team. They did just that once again against Bellefonte, getting out to an early lead that they never surrendered, as the Bison remain undefeated after a 73-52 final.
The Bison got red hot, real quick, as Braison Patrick accounted for 10 of the team’s opening quarter 20 points. Defensively, the Bison were just as strong, as they limited Bellefonte to half of their scoring output, taking a 20-10 lead into the second quarter.
That was when Evett Maines got involved, getting his groove going as the Bison would continue to push their lead, finishing with a 38-24 advantage heading into halftime.
It was in the third quarter when the two of them combined and began really getting after it. Clearfield put up 16 points in the third, all coming from them. At the end of the night, both Maines and Patrick would finish with a team-high 22 points. Four Bison ballers would finish in double figures. Along with both Maines and Patrick, Elijah Glunt would finish with 12 points, with Parker Collins coming in with another 10.
Glunt would be just shy of a double-double, as he pulled down nine rebounds, six of them coming in the second half.
For Bellefonte, only Logan Gibson would make double-digit scoring, as he finished with 12 points. The Red Raiders were better at the foul line than the Bison, finishing 11-for-12, compared to Clearfield’s 11-for-19.
The road trip for Clearfield (12-0) has one game left, that coming on Friday night when they take the long drive to Forest Hills. It is another planned double-header on the night, as the Lady Bison will also be in action as the opening game. The boys will tip-off at approximately 7:30 p.m.
