PENFIELD — The Clearfield YMCA invites the community to bundle up and join the fun at Winterfest ’26, happening Saturday, January 31, at Parker Dam State Park. This all-day winter celebration features outdoor activities, family-friendly competitions, and unique cold-weather experiences for all ages.
Winterfest ’26 kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Freeze Your Gizzard 5K (pre-registration required), alongside ice skate rentals opening for the day. At 10:30 a.m., the popular Ice Skate Swap begins and runs all day, giving attendees a chance to exchange skates and gear.
Midday highlights include the Arctic Blast Cornhole Tourney at 12 p.m. (pre-registration required), followed by the Kid’s Snow Box Derby at 1 p.m.. At 1:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy a unique look at winter traditions during Historic Ice Harvesting, and at 2 p.m., brave participants can test their aim in Frozen Salami Slinging.
The day wraps up with the ultimate cold-weather challenge — the Polar Plunge at 4 p.m. (pre-registration required).
