CLEARFIELD – A Philipsburg man has pleaded guilty for touching a teen girl inappropriately at his home in Oct. 2023.

Dennis Paul Weld, 57, was sentenced by President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman to serve 22 months to 10 years in state prison with three years consecutive re-entry probation for felony counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent and corruption of minors on Wednesday, according to a court employee.

Weld must complete sex offender counseling, have no contact with the victim and have no unsupervised contact with any female under the age of 18.

He has not yet been evaluated to determine if he can be classified as a sexually violent predator. That will be scheduled at a later date.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim reported to state police on Oct. 23, 2023 that she had been sexually assaulted by Weld the morning of Oct. 22, 2023.

In an interview at the Clearfield County Child Advocacy Center, the girl told investigators that morning she was staying at Weld’s home. She was lying down on a futon, on her side, facing the wall when he came into the room and put his hand down her pants and touched her private area.

The next day she told a friend who advised her that she needed to report the assault.

When asked about the incident, Weld denied touching her, according to the criminal complaint.
