FALLS CREEK, Pa. (EYT) — A Falls Creek man is facing multiple criminal charges following a domestic incident that allegedly involved a knife and a standoff with state troopers.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Pennsylvania State Police in DuBois, the incident occurred on November 29 at an apartment on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County.
Troopers were dispatched to the residence around 4:31 p.m. for a report of an active domestic situation involving weapons. While en route, officers were advised that the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Isaac Daniel Krause, was in possession of a large hunting-style knife. Upon arrival, police found that Krause had barricaded himself inside the apartment and was refusing to exit, the complaint states.
Troopers interviewed the victim at the scene.
According to the affidavit, the victim stated she and Krause were in a relationship and lived together. She told police they got into an argument during which Krause began yelling at her, and he pushed her.
The victim allegedly told officers she left the room to de-escalate the situation, but when she returned, Krause had been drinking and was throwing items around the apartment. According to the complaint, Krause threw a couch, slammed and kicked a door, and pushed the victim again.
The victim called 9-1-1 and went outside to the sidewalk. She told police that Krause followed her outside, pulled out a large hunting-style knife with a black handle, and held it up in a threatening manner before running back inside, according to the complaint.
Police attempted to get Krause to exit the apartment voluntarily. The affidavit states that Krause climbed onto a second-story window ledge and told troopers he was going to jump and run away because he had outstanding warrants.
Troopers eventually made forced entry into the apartment, discovering the front door was blocked by a refrigerator. According to the complaint, officers took Krause into custody, though the complaint states he physically resisted and attempted to pull away while being escorted to a patrol vehicle.
Police say they also found a small amount of marijuana in the apartment during the investigation, the complaint notes.
