CLEARFIELD – An Altoona man will stand trial on 1,200 felony charges related to his repeated abuse of a girl over a period of years.
Travis Lee Greenaway, 44, is charged with 200 counts each of rape of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with child; and 400 counts each of sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault-person less than 13-years old. He is in the county jail and has been denied bail because “no amount of bail can assure the court the safety of any future victims”, according to online court documents.
He waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court, sending the case on to the court of common pleas for further disposition.
An investigation into his actions began in Sept. 2024 after a juvenile posted in a TikTok video that she had been molested in 2014 or 2015 by Greenaway while he was babysitting her.
She told investigators that he raped her twice when she was five or six years old. Further investigation led to another victim who said Greenaway had raped her starting when she was 11 or 12 years old, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
This second victim said when she was between eight and 13; he would rape her every week. By age 13, the rapes reportedly became a nearly daily occurrence. Most of the assaults happened at a Cooper Township residence.
She stated that he would regularly use his cell phone to record her performing a sex act on him. The last profile picture he had on his phone, she reported, was of her performing oral sex on him.
She also related that he would make her promise that if she got pregnant, she would give him the child so he could abuse it too.
“He said it so often; I can remember the exact line. Whenever I get you pregnant and you have a baby girl, you are going to give it to me so I can have this amount of fun with it too, right?” it says in the criminal complaint.
The second victim who now lives out of state said she wanted to see him arrested for his crimes and would return to Pennsylvania for court.
On April 15, this second victim recorded a phone conversation with Greenaway in which they discussed the two having sex, according to the report.
