CURWENSVILLE – If you would like to walk with spirits, ride a horse, see Santa or show off your music knowledge, you need to be in Curwensville this week.
The Curwensville Merchants’ annual Home for the Holidays celebration has all of this and more during its three-day event which starts Thursday.
This year in addition to the merchants offering specials, they will have a scavenger hunt sponsored by Hidden Star County Kitchen, a special Spirits of the Past Walking Tour by the Curwensville Historical Society on Thursday, and a Wine Walk on Friday, as well as horse rides and Music Bingo on Saturday. Santa Claus will arrive in town at noon on Saturday in a special parade.
Other highlights are the unveiling of the America250PA Clearfield County (Liberty) Bell replica at 2 p.m. at the Curwensville Historical Society’s Patton House Museum.
“Bells Across PA is America250PA’s statewide art series in which local artists adorn and magically transform fiberglass bell sculptures in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the united States in 2026,” according to the America250PA’s committee. 108 of these bells, sponsored by businesses and individuals, will be placed across the commonwealth to highlight each of PA’s 67 counties.
Clearfield’s bell was designed by Linda Heberling with Willy Whitman helping with the letters and Dan Gill applying the overcoat protection. This special bell was sponsored by First Energy.
