West Decatur Man Facing New Charges on Multiple Thefts

CLEARFIELD – A West Decatur man already charged with burglary and theft was scheduled for preliminary hearings in three new cases on Wednesday during centralized court.

Jacob Brian Fyock, 28, waived his hearings on felony counts of contraband, and misdemeanor counts of evading arrest on foot and intentional possession of a controlled substance in one case and misdemeanor counts of theft of mail, theft by unlawful taking, and possession of a small amount of marijuana, in a second case.

The charge in a third case, felony receiving stolen property, was held to court after a hearing.

All charges now move on to the court of common pleas for further disposition.

Fyock remains in the county jail with bail in each of these cases set at $25,000.

The first charges stem from an incident on July 13 in Boggs Township after Fyock allegedly took a package from a porch. Shortly after this, police were able to locate the vehicle he was driving when he took the package, at another residence. Fyock exited the home, saw them and ran off, according to the criminal complaint.

In the vehicle police reportedly found a jar of suspected marijuana.

After he was apprehended, he was taken to the county jail where a baggie of suspected methamphetamine was found concealed on his person, between the bottom of his foot and his sock, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The last case is the result of Fyock’s alleged actions on June 24 at a business in Decatur Township.

According to that affidavit, police were called to investigate the theft of tools and brass fittings in two buckets, valued at over $7,500.

In Aug. an investigator interviewed a witness who said he was contacted by Fyock in June for a ride to Novey’s Recycling in Clearfield. He related Fyock had two, five gallon buckets half full of copper fittings. Fyock received $96 for them. This witness also saw Fylock with tools which fit the descriptions of the ones stolen.

In Sept. Fyock waived his right to hearings on felony counts of theft by deception, access device issued to another, identity theft and receiving stolen property along with misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and possessing instruments of crime in one case and in the second case with two counts of burglary and five counts of criminal mischief, both felonies, in addition to two misdemeanor counts each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Bail in these instances is $50,000 each.

The charges in the first case stem from an incident on July 2 in Boggs Township when Fyock allegedly stole a wallet with money, credit cards and more from a vehicle while it was parked as the owner was canoeing on Clearfield Creek.

The second case involves a burglary at a Boggs Township residence where a dirt bike was removed from a garage.
