ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Marienville responded to a report of a disabled vehicle in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, on September 30.
According to PSP Marienville, troopers arrived in the area of Moore Bridge Road and Craft Run Road around 8:47 a.m. They found a trailer hauling a backhoe left disabled on the road.
Witnesses told troopers they saw two unknown white males unhook a dark-colored pickup truck from the trailer. The men then left the scene in the truck.
The pickup truck was observed traveling west on Moore Bridge Road around 8:12 a.m. Police noted the truck had damage to its tailgate area.
The report listed both the trailer and the backhoe as recovered. A wood hunting stand base, valued at $200, was reported stolen in the incident.
Police said the victims include a 58-year-old Clarion woman, a 60-year-old Brookville man, and a 64-year-old Oil City man.
This investigation is ongoing.
