CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Clarion County Coroner was dispatched to the scene of an incident in Clarion Borough on Wednesday.
A release issued by State Police in Clarion around Noon indicated that authorities were investigating a “serious incident” in the 300 block of Main Street.
The investigation, initiated on Wednesday morning, is centered around an apartment at 308 Main Street.
On Wednesday afternoon, investigators from Clarion Borough Police and Pennsylvania State Police, could be seen collecting evidence on the rear porch of the residence.
Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker confirmed he was dispatched on Wednesday afternoon; however, he was unable to provide further details citing an active police investigation.
Investigators were also seen at a home near the intersection of South 6th Avenue and South Street late Wednesday afternoon.
The Main Street scene remained active as of 8:00 p.m.
Authorities reiterated there are no immediate threats to the public.
State police said news updates will be provided as the investigation evolves.
A representative from Clarion-based State Police declined to comment.
Calls to the Clarion Borough Police Department were not immediately returned.
