CURWENSVILLE- Planning a weekend at Curwensville Lake just got a whole lot easier. The Curwensville Lake Recreation Area has rolled out a new online reservation system that lets visitors book campsites, picnic pavilions, and other facilities from their computer or mobile phone.
Officials with the Curwensville Lake Authority said the upgrade is part of a broader effort to modernize the park’s services and make it more convenient for visitors.
“We’ve heard from a lot of campers who wanted an easier way to reserve spots and see what’s available,” said Erin Veoni Warrick, Office Manager and Activities Director. “This system gives people real-time information and the ability to plan their trips without waiting for office hours.”
“It is hard to explain over the phone where certain sites are located, and prior to the busy season- especially for Labor Day weekend- we had lines of people out the office. This will definitely help ‘lighten the load.”
Through the new CampLife portal, visitors can browse an interactive map of the lake’s campground, check availability for specific dates, and pay online using a secure payment system. The platform also allows users to modify or cancel reservations and receive instant confirmation via email.
The move brings Curwensville Lake in line with other regional and state recreation areas that have adopted digital booking systems in recent years. In addition to improving customer convenience, officials say the technology will help staff manage occupancy, track maintenance needs, and streamline seasonal operations.
Warrick said she and the lake authority are confident that the new system will help increase the number of stays and make it easier for people to plan their visits ahead.
Warrick also added that this will give her more time to plan for activities and events, which is a win-win for everyone.
Curwensville Lake, located just outside of Curwensville in Clearfield County, attracts thousands of visitors each year for camping, boating, fishing, and hiking. The 790-acre property includes a campground, day-use areas, and several pavilions for group gatherings.
“We’re excited to offer this to our visitors ahead of next season,” Warrick added. “It’s a big step forward for us, and we think people are really going to appreciate how easy it is to use.”
The new reservation system is live now here. Reservations can also still be made by phone or in person at the lake office during regular business hours.
