CLEARFIELD- The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 812, recently presented the Program Director of the Clearfield YMCA, Morgan Duke, with a $2000 donation for their annual campaign.
“We try to support the YMCA every chance we get. Knowing of their recent projects and repairs, we wanted to ensure we contribute to their campaign to help the Y with all they offer to our local community,” said F.O.E. Secretary Justin Hainsey.
The Clearfield YMCA has a full facility due to the hard work and philanthropy of our community throughout the past 123 years. Donations are critical to the success of the YMCA, as membership and program fees only cover two-thirds of their costs.
Over the last couple years, the YMCA has undergone facility upgrades and maintenance projects that, although necessary, were unexpected. They have purchased and installed new PRECOR strength and cardio equipment, a new security camera surveillance system, repaired a hot water boiler, and remodeled a room to become the new group exercise studio.
Clearfield YMCA Executive Director, Brian McDonald, expects several more projects on the horizon, to include updating the small gymnasium to provide a safe place for children to engage, and replacing their oil furnace with a more efficient natural gas boiler.
If you’d like to contribute to their campaign, you can drop off or mail donations to “Clearfield YMCA”, at 21 North Second Street, Clearfield.
