CLEARFIELD – A Madera man, who repeatedly broke into the Bigler Township Municipal Building, pleaded guilty during colloquy court with sentencing Monday.
Jesse Bryant Breeden, 36, was sentenced to serve 12 months to three years in state prison for felony burglary, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property as well as misdemeanor trademark counterfeiting in a second case by President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman.
In addition, his probation on previous forgery and false identification to law enforcement charges was revoked and he was given an additional period of incarceration of three months to two years.
According to the affidavit of probable cause in the burglary case, on July 7 police were called to the Bigler Township Municipal Building to investigate a burglary. The officer was told that over the holiday weekend, dozens of items had been stolen.
The security camera footage showed a white man entering the building on four separate occasions between July 5 at 11 p.m. and July 7 at 1:00 a.m. While looking at the film, the trooper looked out a window to see the same man walking towards the rear entrance of the structure. The officer walked to the rear of the building where he heard the door open and was able to take the actor later identified as Breeden into custody without incident.
In an interview with police, Breeden admitted to entering the building on at least five occasions in the past week and removing dozens of items which he sold for $600. He used the funds to purchase drugs.
Breeden revealed that he still had a ratchet set he stole at his home. He was transported to his residence where the ratchet set was recovered.
Breeden was charged with trademark counterfeiting for passing a counterfeit $50 bill at an Irvona store.
