This fall, twenty-one standout high school football players are taking on more than just their opponents on the field, they’re also joining the fight to end cancer. The American Cancer Society is proud to announce the participants in the 35th Annual Mr. Gridiron Contest, a unique community fundraiser that combines school spirit with lifesaving purpose.
Each athlete has been nominated by their school not just for their skill under the Friday night lights, but for their leadership and dedication off the field. These young men are raising critical funds to support cancer research and essential patient programs. One of them will be crowned Mr. Gridiron 2025.
This year’s candidates are:
• Clearfield Bison: Colton Ryan, Xavier Curry, Cooper Broad
• Curwensville Golden Tide: Cael Butler, Dante Lezzer, Joshua Legars
• DuBois Beavers: Noah Crawford, Walker Thomas, Jonathan Reed
• Glendale Vikings: Logan Skebeck, Cameron Dreibelbis, Daniel Williams
• Moshannon Valley Black Knights: Valent Cervenak, Chase Mital, Troy Canner
• Philipsburg-Osceola Mounties: Colton Chapman, Ryan McClure, Evan Eichenlaub
• West Branch Warriors: Colby Kephart, Evan Emigh, Stephen Page
Supporters can vote for their favorite athlete by placing donations in designated Coin Cans at local businesses. Every dollar counts as a vote, and the player who raises the most by the end of October will earn the title of Mr. Gridiron 2025.
Checks made payable to the American Cancer Society can also be mailed to: American Cancer Society 108R North Second Street, Suite 1B. Clearfield, PA 16830. Please include your chosen candidate’s name and “Mr. Gridiron Contest” in the memo line to ensure proper credit.
Participating Schools Include: Clearfield Area Jr/Sr High School, Curwensville High School, DuBois Area High School, Glendale Jr/Sr High School, Moshannon Valley Jr/Sr High School, Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School, and West Branch High School.
The contest runs through October, with all votes tallied at the close of the month. The results will be announced during a special banquet honoring all participants on Sunday November 2.
This fall, the American Cancer Society is encouraging the community to help these athletes go beyond the game and help us bring an end to cancer as we know it, for everyone.
