UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police in DuBois reported that a two-vehicle crash occurred at 12:46 p.m. on October 3 along US-322 at the intersection with Shortcut Road in Union Township, Clearfield County.
According to police, a 2017 Ford Transit driven by Larry R. Jarrett Jr., 56, of Houtzdale, was traveling east behind a 2022 Ford Escape operated by Carol M. Galonis, 73, of Lapeer, Michigan. Galonis was attempting to turn left onto Shortcut Road when Jarrett’s vehicle failed to stop in time and struck the rear of her vehicle.
Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound travel lane facing east on the shoulder. Galonis and her passenger were transported by DUSAN EMS to Penn Highlands DuBois for evaluation.
Both drivers were using seatbelt.
Jarrett was cited for following too closely.
