Dorothy Ellen (Clark) Love, 101, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, while at her home.

Dorothy was born on February 19, 1924, to the late Lawrence Clinton and Katherine C. (Aiken) Clark.

Dorothy married the love of her life, L. Elmer Love, on January 18, 1943, in Crates.

Elmer preceded her in passing on April 10, 2012.

Dorothy graduated from Corsica Union High School with the Class of 1943.

A proud mother of three children, she poured her heart and soul into them with love, wisdom, and guidance.

Dorothy was a woman of strong faith and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville.

Dorothy was filled with resilience and determination.

She also understood the value of hard work.

She found solace in the simple pleasures of life, tending to her garden.

She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, mowing the yard and doing yard work.

She loved to travel and has visited many of the major national parks.

Dorothy always thought family was the most important and kept the broad extended part of the family together, by organizing reunions or any other event that she could get everyone together to celebrate.

One of her favorite things to celebrate was birthdays, she thought no one should have a birthday without a cake.

She was warm, compassionate and showed kindness to everyone, leaving an indelible mark wherever she went.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, E. David Love, Daniel E. (Genie) Love, four grandchildren, Tammy E. Love, Genie Marie Love (Steve Yanoski), Carla (Eric) Johnson, Richard (Samantha) Love, five great-grandchildren, Ella (Nick) Huey, Leila Johnson, Alexis Love, Genie Love Yanoski, and Zane Love, one sister, Alice Kerr, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in passing by one son, Richard C. “Dick” Love, five siblings, Gerald Clark, Thomas Clark, Irene Cherico, Ronald Clark, and Audrey Bell.

The family feels that they have been extremely blessed with all her caregivers.

We would like to extend our warm thanks to everyone who has cared for Dorothy “Our Gram” over the last several years.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4–8 p.m. at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Avenue, Brookville, PA on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by Father William Laska.

Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson County, PA.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library or the Immaculate Conception Church.
