State Police Investigate Child Welfare, Harassment, Drug Possession

State police are looking into a report of an injured child in Clearfield County, allegations of harassment at a human services agency, and a drug arrest following a traffic stop in Jefferson County.

Police are investigating the welfare of a child in Brady Township, Clearfield County. According to a report from DuBois-based State Police, troopers were contacted by Clearfield County Children and Youth Services on Friday, September 27. The report states a five-year-old child was seen with three to four scratches on the right neck area. The investigation is ongoing.

An investigation into possible mistreatment is underway in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. Police from the DuBois barracks were dispatched to a location on Route 322 on September 16 for a report of possible mistreatment at ARC Human Services. The report states a water bottle was used to spray a person in the face. Three employees were suspended regarding the incident, according to the report.

Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop in Young Township, Jefferson County, on August 30. According to a police report from PSP Punxsutawney, the driver of a vehicle was found to be under the combined influence of an intoxicating beverage and a drug or drugs. A passenger was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia, the report states. Charges are pending against a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Punxsutawney.
