CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that drivers on Route 1011 (Rolling Stone Road) in Cooper and Covington townships should expect to encounter flaggers in the roadway starting Monday, September 22. as work to rehabilitate a bridge spanning an RJ Corman Railroad and the West Branch of the Susquehanna River begins. This preservation work will improve the overall condition rating of the structure and extend its service life.

Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours while the contractor completes this work. PennDOT anticipates that the project will take approximately two weeks to complete, but all schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Preservation work for this bridge includes removing and replacing a portion of the existing structure, making structural steel repairs, and painting the existing steel. Advantage Steel and Construction LLC., of Saxonburg, PA, is the contractor on this $141,000 project.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
