Clearfield and Curwensville both recorded 3-point road wins in Week 4 and return to the friendly confines of the Bison Sports Complex and Coach Andy Evanko Stadium, respectively, as the regular season reaches the halfway point. The Bison face off against a familiar foe in Huntingdon, which they have faced 35 times all-time and have dominated the series over the past decade-and-a-half.
The Golden Tide celebrate Homecoming this week against a Claysburg-Kimmel program that is a very recent edition to the schedule. Curwensville and the Bulldogs just started their series in 2023 with the Tide’s return to the Inter County Conference.
Here are capsules looks at each game:
Huntingdon (3-1) at Clearfield (3-1)
ALL-TIME SERIES: Clearfield has won seven straight in the series and has taken 15 of the last 16 meetings. Clearfield holds a 21-13-1 edge all-time.
LAST MEETING: Brady Collins piled up 355 rushing yards and three scores, including an 83-yard jaunt, and added a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as the Bison routed Huntingdon 46-7 in Week 5 last season.
LAST WEEK FOR CLEARFIELD: The Bison took a 15-0 lead to the half against host Bellefonte, which forced the game to go to overtime before Clearfield escaped with a 21-18 victory. Bison quarterback Xavier Curry scored on a 1-yard sneak to deliver the game-winning TD after the Bison defense held the Raiders to a field goal in the first overtime period.
LAST WEEK FOR HUNTINGDON: After holding its first three opponents to a total of 24 points, Huntingdon surrendered 38 to Bishop Guilfoyle in a 38-14 road loss to the Marauders. B.G. outscored the Bearcats 13-0 in the second quarter to take a 20-7 lead to the half before upping its advantage to 31-14 after three. The Marauders racked up 332 yards rushing, while limiting Huntingdon to just 20 on the ground.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Claysburg-Kimmel leads the series, which began in 2023, 2-0.
LAST MEETING: The Bulldogs outscored the Tide 13-0 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 34-28 victory last season. Claysburg’s Mason Campagna and Mark Lattieri ran for 277 yards and five TDs to offset Curwensville QB Tyler Dunn’s 290 yards and four touchdowns through the air.
LAST WEEK FOR CURWENSVILLE: The Golden Tide picked up the first career win for first-year head coach Brad Sopic with a 29-26 decision over Southern Huntingdon. Cael Butler had a punt return and a kickoff return for touchdowns in the Curwensville win.
LAST WEEK FOR CLAYSBURG-KIMMEL: Juniata Valley piled up 435 total yards of offense in a 44-31 road win against the Bulldogs. Campagna completed 21 of his 39 pass attempts for 291 yards and three scores in the loss.
