Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a replacement project will close a Route 2024 (Old Erie Pike) structure spanning a branch of Morgan Run three miles southeast of Dimeling on Thursday, August 7. Replacing this structure will improve its overall condition rating.

While the bridge is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 2051, Route 2049, Route 2028 (Long Run Road), and Route 2027 (Mineral Springs Road). PennDOT anticipates the detour will be in place until mid-September, but all schedules are weather-dependent.

Work on this project includes the replacement of the structure, approach paving, and guiderail installation. The $245,600 project is a joint effort between PennDOT Clearfield County maintenance forces and C.H. & D. Enterprises, Inc., of New Stanton, PA. PennDOT crews will complete the excavation and backfill. The contractor will replace the structure, complete the approach paving, install the guide rail, and paint the pavement markings.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
