CLEARFIELD- Assessment appeal and bridges were discussed during the brief meeting held by the Clearfield County Commissioners Tuesday.
Commissioners Tim Winters and John Sobel were present while Commissioner Dave Glass was absent, officiating at the Little League Championship games being played in DuBois.
The commissioners approved hiring an appraiser for the DuBois Mall property, which consists of 14 parcels, for tax appeal. The bill of $14,000 will be shared between the county, Sandy Township and DuBois Area School District with the county contributing $2,660.
The property provides about $75,000 in tax revenue.
The commissioners also approved advertising for bids for bridge scouring protection service which scours rust from the under surface of the bridge and then sprays a protecting agent on the bridge to extend the life of the structure.
The county has six bridges to maintain, including the covered bridge in Bell Township, the Peale Road bridge in Cooper Township, the River Street bridge across Anderson Creek in Curwensville, the Camp Corbly bridge in Greenwood Township and the Christian Ridge Road bridge in Union Township.
