CLEARFIELD- The Clearfield Area School Board held a short committee meeting last night and reviewed a few items to be voted on next week.
There were numerous transfers of positions at the elementary school during a recent bid day, and several
new hires as well.
Superintendent Terry Struble noted that there may be more hires to add to the list by the next meeting.
The board also heard updates on a few things.
The tennis courts have been paved and painted and on a recent walk through of the project the head of
maintenance and Struble noted a few items of concern.
As a result the contractor extended the one year warranty to five years and also gave the school blowers
and mats to take care of wet courts.
There will also be a few changes to technology at the school. For teachers there will be a multi-factor
authentication to sign into Sapphire as additional security.
Students will also only need to remember one username and password for the different systems they
access, and will have the option of self-serve password reset.
Finally, the technology acceptable use policy is being updated for the district.
Business Manager Sam Maney reported that the state still has not passed a budget and the only money he
expects to see from the state is from the state retirement system and Social Security. Fortunately the
district has a sizable savings account to help until the state government does pass the budget.
