CLEARFIELD – Five dollars does not buy a lot these days. But for that small price, you can attend the Clearfield County Fair and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment.
The David H. Litz Grove Stage has a full schedule of events throughout the Fair’s entire run.
Friday, July 11 at 7 p.m.
3 of M is a three piece rock band consisting of three equal sides of a musical triangle with Matt Day (guitar and vocals), Matt Buhler (bass and vocals) and Manny Barbezzenit (drums).
“3 of M plays the good times, high energy music from the Gen X and Millennials era including: 80’s alternative and radio pop, 90’s grunge and alternative, post punk pop and 2000’s dance/party music. The songs that got stuck in your head back in the day.”
Saturday, July 12 at 1:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Elvis or Ryan Pelton, an international, award winning, Elvis tribute artist, actor and singer/songwriter will be delighting fans of the King.
“He has appeared in an international commercial for Volvo, was the featured ETA in a special collector’s ‘Elvis Edition of TV Guide’, and was a body double for Elvis as he performed a duet of ‘If I Can Dream’ on American Idol with Celine Dion.”
Sunday, July 13 from 6 pm. and on Monday, July 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
DJ Super Stew will be on the stage, filling the grove with music.
Children’s Day on Tuesday, July 15 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Little Mermen: The Ultimate Disney Tribute Show “brings Disney’s beloved songs to life with a rockin’ twist.”
“From classics like Mary Poppins and the Lion King to modern hits like Frozen and Moana, their shows are a nostalgic journey through the magical world of Disney, infused with rock and pop influences.”
Wednesday, July 16 at 2 p.m., 5 pm. and 8 p.m.
The Mack Berry Band “is a high energy band that performs a wide variety of music from classic rock to county and much more.” They come for Hagerstown, Maryland but they perform throughout a four state region.
Thursday, July 17 at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The Clark Jackson Band has been making a name for themselves on the Northeast fair circuit. They opened for the Oak Ridge Boys and Chris Janson and Kameron Marlowe.
“Clark and the boys always ensure that the audience has a raucously good time performing all types of country including current, 90’s, classic and even some of his own compositions.”
Friday, July 18, 6 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
Over the Influence is no stranger to Clearfield County as all the members come
from the Clearfield-Curwensville area.. This classic rock group was formed in the late 70’s. They disbanded in 1986 but came back together in May 2015.
They offer an exciting and varied list of classic rock songs, the kind of which made them popular back in the early and mid-80’s.
The group includes Mark Sopic (lead guitar), Dave Curulla, (rhythm guitar and harmonica) Denny Accordino (drums) and Jeff Johnston (bass guitar).
Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Katz 22 is a four piece powerhouse rock and roll band with excellent musicianship and superb vocalists. Each artist in the band performed with some of the top artists in the music business and is well known by pros and fans alike.
“They strive to perform classic hits that most other bands lack the prowess to attempt.”
The Queen’s Contest on Friday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Grandstand is also free on the same day admission to the park is free.
There is additional free entertainment every day in the Expo II Plaza.
Dialed Action On BMX: “This heart pumping show will feature world-class BMX athletes performing jaw dropping stunts and tricks on their bikes.” Volunteers will be participating in this with highly skilled athletes who are masters of their craft.
“This show will be an unforgettable experience for all who attend.”
After the show people will also have a chance to meet the riders and get closer to their bikes.
The First Bite Fishing Tank “provides a hands-on experience to help youngsters as well as adults learn how to handle different species of fish and return them safely back in the water.” This is also an opportunity to take photos as they fish.
Scott’s World of Magic “features futuristic elements that capture the attention and imagination” of people of all ages. This new version of Scott’s show which features its own self contained stage has quickly become the most in-demand magic attraction in the fair industry.”
Of course there are exhibits of local talent in photography, art, sewing, baking and more in the Expo II Building, and free harness racing with the popular Derby Hat Day Contest on Tuesday, July 15 at 5:00 p.m. Or just stroll thorough the barns and enjoy all the cute sheep, cows, horses and other livestock.
If you are a senior citizen you can save $5 by going on Tuesday and Thursday when those 65-years-old and over can get in free from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday is Military Day when, with proof of service, military members can enter free from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
