GRAMPIAN- At a recent meeting Grampian Lions Club elected new officers for the 2025-2026 service year. The new officers were installed by GLC President Martin Tate and will begin their duties July 2025.
New officers are Kirk Thorp; 1st Vice President, Scott Bennett, 2nd Vice President; Dave Turek, 3rd Vice President: Kimmy Wheeler, Secretary and Stephanie Johnson, Treasurer.
President Martin Tate presented GLC members Gary Verrelli and Bill Royer with the Dist. 14-J Governor’s “Outstanding Member Award” Gary and Bill are dedicated members and have served GLC in many capacities.
Plans are being made for a Cornhole Tournament . The tournament will be held held at the Grampian Community Park Saturday, August 2. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Games will begin at 11 a.m. The cost will be $40 per team. There will be a competitive and a social bracket.
A concession stand and a Raffle will be available at the event. If any one is willing to donate a basket or an item for the raffle it would be greatly appreciated. All proceeds from this Cornhole event will benefit the GLC Special Needs Fund to help the needs of the community. Pre – registration is advised or you can register at the door.
The GLC’s 2025 Harold “Bunk” Wriglesworth Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Curwensville Area High School graduates, Karleigh Freyer and Daniel Redding.
New members are always welcome to help with the clubs many projects and activities, with the goal of fulfilling the lions motto “We Serve”
