HOUTZDALE- State police received a report of a theft that occurred in Woodward Twp.
Police say the victim reported that he was pressured by members of a facebook group to transfer money multiple times into various cryptocurrency wallets.
The victim reported the total transfers accounted to $72,631 before the accounts were closed.
Police would like to remind residents that anyone who requests or demands large amounts of money, especially in untraceable methods like cryptocurrency, gift cards or cash, is almost always a scam.
Residents are urged to remain cautious of unsolicited investment opportunities and requests for financial information.
