NORTHERN CAMBRIA BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – An Indiana County man was charged with Firearm not to be carried without a license and other crimes following investigation into a shooting incident on June 7 in Cambria County.
Joshua James McKendrick, 21, of Cherry Tree, PA was charged with one felony count of Firearm not to be carried without a license and misdemeanor counts of Recklessly endangering another person and tampering with evidence.
McKendrick was interviewed by troopers and was lodged in the Cambria County Prison.
On June 7, 2025, at 2225 hours, members of the Troop A, Ebensburg Patrol and Crime Units were asked to investigate a shooting incident in the 4100 block of Crawford Avenue, Northern Cambria Borough. Upon arrival, troopers were advised that a 17-year-old male victim was shot in the leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Several witnesses and the victim were interviewed of which they related McKendrick was seen waving a 40-caliber pistol around several times throughout the evening while the group of friends were partying. A verbal argument ensued with the victim and McKendrick over the gun being waved around and pointing it at several individuals. The victim attempted to grab the gun from McKendrick’s pocket, but McKendrick prevented the victim from grabbing it resulting in the gun discharging, striking the victim in the leg. McKendrick fled the scene with the firearm.
McKendrick was located and taken into custody without incident in Indiana Borough, Indiana County shortly after the incident. He was transported to PSP Ebensburg where he was interviewed by troopers about the incident.
Charges were prepared and McKendrick was transported to Cambria County Prison where he was later arraigned.
