WINSLOW TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Reynoldsville woman was charged after an argument over taking out the trash led to a physical altercation that left a man injured, according to State Police in DuBois.
According to court documents, DuBois PSP filed criminal charges against 59-year-old Michelle Christine Wolfgang following an incident at a residence on Fire Tower Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.
According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched around 12:50 a.m. on April 25 after a woman called 9-1-1 requesting help.
The complaint states that Trooper Stutzman spoke to both the defendant, Michelle Wolfgang, and the male victim at the scene.
Wolfgang told police that the male victim was staying in a camper on her property, and she confronted him about taking the trash out and they began to argue, the complaint notes.
According to the complaint, the victim stated that Wolfgang shoved him, which caused him to fall into a doorway area of the house.
The fall allegedly broke the victim’s glasses and caused a cut near his eye, the complaint continues.
Trooper Stutzman observed a bleeding cut near the victim’s left eye and noted that his face had begun to swell, the complaint adds. It was noted that the man’s glasses were broken.
When questioned, Wolfgang allegedly stated that the victim had shoved her and then tripped. The complaint notes that Wolfgang was evasive, told police the victim was a liar, and said that they “should not believe him.”
She was charged with simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and harassment involving physical contact, a summary offense.
During a preliminary hearing on May 28 before Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana, the simple assault charge against Wolfgang was withdrawn.
The harassment charge was moved to non-traffic court, where Wolfgang entered a guilty plea on May 28.
