DuBois- The DuBois City Police, Sandy Township Police, Clearfield County Drug Task Force and the Office of the Attorney General Narcotics Bureau have filed charges on three males from the Buffalo New York area.
An Officer observed a traffic violation in DuBois along with the strong smell of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle as they crossed paths.
As the Officer attempted to turn around, the vehicle sped away at a high-rate speed down West Weber Ave. As the vehicle was crossing an intersection and due to the speed, lost control and crashed into the canopy of the Life Community Church causing extensive damage.
The vehicle then rolled onto its roof and came to rest on its side. All three male occupants exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. One male was caught within minutes after the crash with the assistance of citizens in the area.
The two other males that fled on foot were apprehended after a successful search/track by K-9 Ace. Ace tracked the males to a wooded back yard off Rumbarger Ave., where they were hiding to avoid apprehension.
K-9 Ace was called in to duty from home after numerous officers could not immediately locate the fleeing males. Ace locked onto their track and led his handler directly to their location.
Due to the strong odor of the controlled substance coming from the vehicle, Officers impounded and applied for a search warrant of the vehicle. The search of the vehicle yielded numerous bags of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.
Due to the circumstances the three males Quaron Jones, Donte Jones and Jahaun Ware, all 22 years of age from the Buffalo area, were charged with Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and other related charges.
The males were arraigned in Clearfield County and are currently being held without bail.
