CLEARFIELD – A Hyde man accused of possessing methamphetamine, cocaine and Fentanyl waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Steven Paul Shanechuck, 37, is charged with felony manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and misdemeanor counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remains in the county jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 13, a search warrant was executed on Shanechuck’s residence. During the search, officers found methamphetamine, cocaine and Fentanyl throughout the residence and in Shanechuck’s bedroom. In addition they located sales, spoons with a white residue, small plastic bags and cash.
During an interview with investigators, Shanechuck reportedly admitted to using and selling controlled substances in Clearfield County. He stated he hid methamphetamine in a hole in his closet and narcotics along with a loaded syringe in the lower section of the washer/dryer. Because they would need to remove parts of the bathroom and closet to check those areas, they secured a second search warrant.
Police say they found two transparent bags with a crystalline substance in a natural void in the wood of his bedroom.
In all, they found 14 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of cocaine and a syringe bag containing a significant amount of a white powdery substance suspected to be Fentanyl, according to the criminal complaint.
