CLEARFIELD – Felony drug charges against a Frenchville man were held to court after a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court.
Travis L. Heichel, 48, is charged with manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility, both felonies, in addition to misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, intentional possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana-small amount for personal use.
His case will now move onto the county court. Heichel’s bail is set at $25,000.
The charges stem from an incident on Jan. 31 at a Bradford Township garage during which probation and domestic relations officers found multiple firearms and methamphetamine in a coffee can.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a search warrant was later executed on the garage. Officers found seven firearms, multiple baggies containing suspected methamphetamine and Fentanyl, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.
The methamphetamine reportedly weighed 4.5 ounces.
Both Heichel and Jack Wallace, 52, Munson were taken into custody.
In an interview with investigators, Wallace told police Heichel had been living in his garage for two to three months.
Police received a search warrant for Heichel’s phone and found dozens of text messages involving the distribution of drugs between Nov. 24 and Jan. 31, according to the report.
Wallace is also charged with manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, intentional possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana-small amount for personal use.
He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on March 12. He is free after posting $25,000 bail.
