IUP Commencement to Honor Clearfield County Woman as 4.0 Graduate

INDIANA, Pa. – Indiana University of Pennsylvania will honor 1,457 graduates, including a Clearfield County woman with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, at commencement ceremonies on May 10.

Katherine Fye, is a psychology graduate from DuBois. She is the daughter of Jennifer Sweka-Fye and Mr. and Mrs. David Fye of Indiana.

She is a 2020 graduate of DuBois Area High School and was a member of Psi Chi honor society, the Psychology Club, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

IUP will have three ceremonies, all at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex: graduates from the College of Health Sciences and the University College will receive degrees at the 8:30 a.m. ceremony; graduates from the Dr. John J. and Char Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Education and Human Services will receive degrees at the 12:30 p.m. ceremony; and graduates from the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs and the Eberly College of Business will receive degrees during the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

IUP will celebrate a total of 1,457 graduates earning bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and associate degrees, and will honor Lt. Col. Barry Gasdek, a Westmoreland County native, 1964 graduate of IUP and 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, with an honorary Doctor of Public Services degree.
