Curwensville, PA- In a few short weeks, runners will lace up more than their sneakers; they’ll tie hope to every stride during the ‘1 in 6 5k Run/Walk and Festival’. The event, which will spread awareness on infertility struggles, will transform Curwensville into a powerful testament to resilience and community support.
1 in 6 women or couples will experience infertility in their lives. A local family is looking to spread awareness by hosting 5k run/walk and event to the community on May 10 at Irvin Park in Curwensville.
DJ and Anyssa Caldwell, have struggled with infertility in the past. “We experienced infertility for 3 long years, but luckily through faith, prayer, good doctors and medicine we were able to have children. We don’t want to forget the people who are still struggling. We want to raise awareness since there is not a lot of talk about infertility. This event is a way to give back to the community and support RESOLVE,” explains DJ.

The Caldwells held a similar event in 2023 and raised over $5,000 for the National Infertility Association called RESOLVE.
The cost to enter the 5K Run/Walk is $30 and participants can register up until 9:30 a.m. the day of the event.
Directly following the 5k Run/Walk will be a vendor event in the park until 3:30 p.m. There will be multiple vendors, food trucks and live music. Admission is free.
