Clearfield, PA – As the population continues to age, it is crucial for mature drivers to stay safe on the road. That is why Mature Resources Area Agency on Aging is excited to announce the launch of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Seniors for Safe Driving program, specifically designed to address the needs of senior drivers.
The program offers a senior safe driving course that covers various topics such as defensive driving techniques, how to navigate roundabouts, understanding the effects of medications on driving, and tips for maintaining good physical health to continue driving safely. The course is tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by older drivers, providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe on the road.
“We understand the importance of helping our senior drivers navigate the roads safely and confidently,” said Dennis Biancuzzo MRAAA Director Business Development. “The program is a valuable resource that will not only enhance the safety of our mature drivers but also improve overall road safety for everyone in our community.”
Course Tuition is $17 per student-Payment is due upon Registration (must be made out to SFSD). This course could lower the cost of your car insurance! It is PennDOT approved for drivers 55+, you will receive a minimum 5% discount for 3 years and is classroom instruction only.
MRAAA is now accepting registrations for the senior safe driving course, which will be held May 15, 2025 at the Shaw Public Library from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and May 20, 2025 at the Kylertown Center for Active Living 10:00AM – 2:00PM.
