Clearfield- Students from the Clearfield High School Ski and Board Club took a once in a lifetime ski trip to Killington Ski Resort in Vermont on Feb. 20 – 23.
Led by ski advisors and Clearfield High School teachers Denise McGranor and Jason Bowman, 29 high school students ranging from 9th– 12th grade departed on a Fullington charter bus for the mountains of Vermont. The trip consists of two travel days and two ski days.
Killington Ski Resort in Vermont is the largest ski resort in the northeastern United States, boasting 73 total miles of ski terrain, 155 total ski trails, 21 total ski lifts, and 2 gondolas. The resort consists of 5 mountains of terrain with the tallest being Killington Peak at 4,241 feet of elevation. The longest trail of the resort is Solitude which winds gently down the mountain for a total trail length of over 6 miles.
Students met up with a few other ski clubs staying at the hotel for a pizza party on Friday night and a bowling party on Saturday night.
This is the second trip to Killington Ski Resort by the Clearfield Ski and Board Club with another trip tentatively planned for winter of 2027. Clearfield Ski and Board Club makes four trips to Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York each winter and plans a trip to Vermont every other year.
