Clearfield- As many know, a local mother lost her two boys and home in a house fire on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary 812, the Steve Livergood Jr. Foundation and The After Dark saw the overwhelming support the community was providing the family and decided to join in. The three teamed together to hold a benefit on Saturday, Feb. 8, with all proceeds going to the Brink Family.
A chicken BBQ dinner and donation basket auction were held at the Clearfield Eagles from Noon until 4 p.m. and bingo followed at The After Dark from 4-6 p.m.
All three organizations had plenty of volunteers and donations to help make the day a success. Between the F.O.E. 812, the Steve Livergood Jr. Foundation and The After Dark, they were able to raise $13,380 for The Brink Family.
“This was an event we all decided to do and put together in about three days. It was truly amazing to see everyone come together and raise this much money in such a short amount of time,” said F.O.E. 812 Secretary Justin Hainsey.
The organizers noted that monetary donations were given from The Josh Mayhew Foundation, Linda Peters, A.B.A.T.E., the Dry Ice Plant, The Reams Family, The Schultz Family, The Bob Hoyt Family, and others.
