Attorney Adrianne Peters Sipes, owner of Compass Estate Planning & Elder Law, announces her candidacy for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Clearfield County. Candidates for the vacancy may cross-file their petitions and appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots in the May 20, 2025 primary election.
Peters Sipes stated, “I am running for judge because I believe in the power of the judicial system to bring fairness, accountability, and justice to our community. With my legal experience, commitment to upholding the law, and dedication to serving the public, I want to ensure that every person who enters the courtroom is treated with respect and fairness. I am passionate about making decisions that positively impact individual lives and ensuring that justice is applied equitably. By bringing a thoughtful, impartial approach to the bench, I aim to contribute to a stronger, more just society for our county.”
Peters Sipes was born and raised in Clearfield. A graduate of Clemson University and the Charlotte School of Law, she began the private practice of law in 2010 with the firm of Lavelle & Peters, Ltd. in DuBois. She is currently the owner of Compass Estate Planning & Elder Law in Clearfield. Over the past fourteen years, she has practiced in various areas of law, appearing in many courts across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including appellate and administrative courts. She is the only attorney in Clearfield County to be accredited by the Veteran’s Administration, allowing her to represent claimants before the VA. She is admitted to practice law in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and before the United States Supreme Court.
She currently serves as the President of the Clearfield County Bar Association. She is active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association, serving on the Board of Governors, House of Delegates, and as the Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyer’s Division. She also is on the Executive Council of the American Bar Association Real Property, Trusts and Estates Section, a Delegate to the Young Lawyer’s Division Assembly, and a past member of the ABA House of Delegates.
In 2022, she was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf to serve on the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Council and was reappointed by Governor Josh Shapiro in 2024 to the same position.
A strong proponent of professional education and development, she held licenses and approvals to provide continuing education not only to attorneys, but also financial planners, accountants, insurance agents, nurses, social workers, and nursing home administrators. She has presented across the Commonwealth and nationally on attorney ethics and professionalism, estate planning and elder law topics, law firm management, and work and family balance.
She is active in the local community serving on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Aid Society as the chair of the Adoption and Foster Care Committee and a member of the Youth Mentoring Committee. She is a Past President and current board member of the Clearfield Soccer Association, where she also is the Pee Wee Soccer Coordinator and has coached various age groups. She is also the Vice President of the St. Francis School PTO. She is a member of Grace United Presbyterian Church in Glen Richey, and has served as a Deacon for the Mt. Top Larger Parish.
Peters Sipes resides in Clearfield with her husband, Nick, of Cuwensville, and sons Kade and Deklan.
