CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites residents to its open house/plans display for its Clearfield Congestion Improvement Project at its District 2-0 office located at 70 PennDOT Dr., Clearfield, PA 16830 on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The project, currently in the design phase, will replace 10 traffic signals and enhance others with lighting, communications and technology upgrades along Route 153 (Second Street), Route 322 and Third Street in Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township.

Upon completion, the upgraded signals will interface directly with PennDOT’s Regional Traffic Management Center, allowing for the ongoing collection of traffic data and improvement of signal timing by implementing specialized timing programs to enhance traffic flow.

PennDOT and its consultant team will deliver a formal presentation starting at 6:20 p.m., that will take approximately 10 minutes.

Following that presentation, the public is invited to review the information displays available and discuss the project with the design team.

This meeting is accessible to anyone with disabilities. Anyone requiring special assistance should contact Jared Lapczynski, PennDOT project manager, at jlapczynsk@pa.gov or 814-496-6106 at least 24 hours before the open house to discuss accommodation of their needs.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
