CLEARFIELD – Zackary S.H. Jenkins, 20, of Clearfield is charged by Clearfield state police with two felony counts of rape for the alleged sexual assault of a female June 21.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim went to Mount Nittany Medical Center June 24, reporting she’d been raped three days earlier at a Decatur Township residence.

At the hospital, she detailed her encounter with Jenkins for authorities, saying how he first started kissing and touching her inappropriately.

She said she “repeatedly” told Jenkins to stop and “made it very clear” she didn’t want to have sex with him. But, he persisted, reportedly commenting he wouldn’t “hurt” her, and then allegedly raped her.

The victim said Jenkins didn’t stop even after she began crying.

She also provided state police with a social media conversation in which she asked Jenkins if he realized that he had sexually assaulted her. He responded, “I do.”

Jenkins—when interviewed by authorities—claimed the encounter stopped when the victim began crying and that he couldn’t remember whether or not he had sex with her.

Jenkins then refused to submit to a polygraph examination, as well as to provide a voluntary DNA sample.

Immediately after the interview, Jenkins reportedly called the victim demanding she tell state police that she was lying and trying to “guilt-trip” her by saying she would be responsible if he got raped, stabbed or killed in prison.

Jenkins had his case bound over to county court for further disposition following a preliminary hearing Wednesday. His bail was previously set at $50,000, which online court documents indicate he posted Aug. 5.
