BIGLER – The Children’s Giving Tree Project began over 25 years ago to support children and families that CenClear serves during the Holiday Season.

CenClear staff work closely with program parents to purchase specific items that their children need such as: winter coats, boots and hats, clothing, books, toys and much more. Eligible children/families may be in crisis because of severe economic disadvantage or disabilities.

A race was held at the Flat Run Speedway in memory of Derek Neidrick. The event was organized by Wanda Neidrick, Derek’s mother, and Miranda Perrin.

This duo was able to raise $1,340 through T-shirt sales, donations and a 50/50 held at the race. A couple of these donations were provided by Hookies Fire Department and Smithmill VFW.

Neidrick expressed that, “We could not have done it without the help of others in our community and especially the help and hard work of Marinda.

“When thinking of where to donate the money in memory of Derek, we thought CenClear’s Children’s Giving Tree Project was perfect.”

CenClear is very grateful for the donation and will ensure that this money is used to brighten many children’s holiday season.

Headquartered in Bigler, CenClear is dedicated to providing early childhood, preschool, mental health and substance use disorder services to prenatal, infants, children, teens, adults and families from locations in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Centre, Elk, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, Mifflin, Potter and Somerset counties as well as some select programs in adjoining counties.

CenClear continues to serve more than 14,000 adults, adolescents, and children annually in a variety of programs and services.
