OSCEOLA MILLS – Front and Centre Productions Inc. and ILLUSIONS Dance Studio have been offering dance experiences for the past seven years and enrollment has grown to over 130 dancers attending various classes each week.

Beginning in January 2024, ILLUSIONS is excited to bring its new SHINE Dance Class to the schedule.

SHINE is offered for dancers of all ages with Down Syndrome, Autism and other developmental special needs. This program is a great way for children with special needs to get involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills, confidence and socialization.

Dance can also be a unique and effective way to reach students with special needs because it is nonverbal. Dance can help students gain balance between the two halves of the body, allow them to express emotion, gain muscle control and work through traumas.

In dance, they interact socially through parallel interaction, which can be less overwhelming on sensitive nervous systems. Using simple patterns, sequencing and repetition, dancers will learn the basics of movement, rhythm, the fundamentals of dance.

SHINE is offered on Tuesdays, from 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. at Front and Centre Productions Inc. Creative Arts Center, 105 Elizabeth St., Osceola Mills, PA 16666.

To sign up to attend, please complete the registration form found here: https://forms.gle/LmN96aeAJ1HazX757.

The first class will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.
