CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield woman is facing aggravated assault, DUI and resisting arrest charges following a motor vehicle crash Jan. 5 in Lawrence Township.
Police say Bobbi S. Yatsko, 32, caused a crash because she was driving recklessly eastbound along the state Route 879 Bypass. She reportedly lost control and struck a westbound vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. The male driver and female passenger in the second vehicle were injured and transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield.
During the on-scene investigation, police say Yatsko was “hysterical,” and as she sat on the ground, she was screaming and crying. She was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.
When she was placed under arrest, she started to resist the officers and urinated on one officer’s leg, according to the police report.
Yatsko also allegedly spit in a female officer’s face and kicked a male officer in the chest and face, as they attempted to place her inside the police cruiser.
After arrival at the township police station, she refused to get out and then allegedly resisted officers inside a holding cell, spitting in the female officer’s face and kicking at officers.
Police say she spit in the female officer’s face again before refusing to consent to a legal blood draw. She was then taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield for clearance to be housed in county jail.
Yatsko is charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest, reckless endangerment (two counts), disorderly conduct and DUI, plus three summaries.
Yatsko is being held in county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, and set to appear for a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Jan. 12 during centralized court.
