CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors held their reorganizational meeting for 2022.
Supervisor Jeremy Ruffner was appointed as the police liaison and Supervisor Randy Powell was appointed as a liaison to the fire companies.
The supervisors passed a motion to reenact the taxes for Lawrence Township as follows: Real Estate: 18 Mills, wage tax: one half of 1 percent, local services tax: $52 per year, real estate transfer: one half of 1 percent, amusement tax: $50 for the first machine/plus $25 each additional machine.
The supervisors also tabled a motion to appoint an emergency management coordinator for 2022 for the time being.
At the conclusion of the reorganizational meeting, the supervisors held their regular meeting.
Police Chief Doug Clark reported there were three DUIs, seven drug arrests, 70 traffic stops, 101 written warnings, 25 court appearances by officers, 32 warrants were served and 27 accidents for the month of December.
Lawrence Township would like to advise residents to please be careful when they use markers for their property for the plow trucks. Improper placement or improper objects could cause potential damage to the snow plows.
Powell also suggested the use of dash cameras for the fire department with the suggestion of rear cameras, as well. A motion was then made for Ruffner to look into dash and rear cameras for the fire department as well as researching the cost.
