CLEARFIELD – James Quick will retire from the Clearfield Area School District as its director of professional development, assessment and curriculum in January.
He’s submitted his letter of resignation, effective Jan. 4, 2022, to the district and it was approved under Education & Personnel at Monday night’s school board meeting.
Quick has been in his current administrative role since July of 2013 and is responsible for leading federal programs, teacher induction, district assessment and teacher supervision.
Prior to that, he spent nearly five years as principal of Clearfield Area Elementary School and just over one-and-a-half years as assistant principal of the former Clearfield Middle School.
He began as a mathematics teacher for nearly 10 years from September of 1997 until July of 2007, and before that was a long-term substitute from September of 1994 until June of 1996.
Quick also taught briefly at Conneaut School District, Linesville, Pa., before beginning his 24-year tenure with the Clearfield Area School District.
