HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of 12 a.m., March 5, there were 2,757 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state-wide total to 944,196.

According to the DOH Web site, Clearfield County has had 6,384 (+22) total cases since last March and 115 (+1) deaths while 18,953 people have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 4,722 were confirmed and 1,662 were probable.

There are 1,628 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, state health officials say, and of that number, 350 patients are in the intensive care unit.

Most patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.

The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 4,200 lower than it was at the peak Dec. 25. However, the current 14-day average is now also below what it was at the height of the spring peak May 3.

The state-wide percent positivity for the week of Feb. 19 – Feb. 25 is 6.3 percent. Daily data is available on the Web site, with archived data also available.

The department has also reported a total of 24,262 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. County-specific information and a state-wide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.

There are 113,098 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 636 individuals who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.

There are 3,926,038 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date. Additionally, 91 percent of patients have recovered from the virus.

State health officials remind that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, even if fully vaccinated, and is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
