BROCKWAY – The Brockway Lady Rovers took care of business Friday night on its home floor as it knocked off the Lady Tide of Curwensville by a score of 55-31.
The Lady Rovers wasted little time in showing its dominance by taking a 21-7 first quarter lead and then a 37-17 margin at the intermission.
Curwensville did play better in the second half and actually outscored Brockway 9-8 in the third frame and just lost the final 16 minutes by five tallies, 13-8.
Sophomore Skylar Pentz paced the Lady Tide attack with 16 points while junior Alyssa Bakaysa added 11.
Brockway’s Selena Buttery led all scorers on the night with 25 and was assisted by Danielle Wood’s 18 tallies.
Free throws were at a premium as both squads each attempted four with the Lady Tide making three and the Lady Rovers connecting on two.
In the junior varsity game it was Brockway defeating the Lady Tide by a score of 29-11. Pentz had five points for Curwensville.
Next for the Lady Tide (2-3) is a tough battle on Tuesday at DuBois Area High School to face the Lady Beavers.
