CURWENSVILLE – Rules and regulations at Irvin Park have received some updates.
At Monday’s meeting, the Curwensville Borough Council voted to approve Ordinance 494. According to the borough’s Web site, the rules for the park are as follows:
No signs, bills, placards or advertisements can be placed or distributed within the park, apart from those relating to entertainment or features being held in the park.
Bonfires, disturbances, disorderly conduct, riotous assembly, drunkenness, use of profanity and indecent exposure are prohibited.
All motor and other movable vehicles while in Irvin Park shall be driven in a careful manner with regard for the safety of people and property and in full compliance with Pennsylvania Law and Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.
Tampering, damaging or defacing park property is prohibited.
No vehicles shall be parked within Irvin Park except in designated parking areas.
Refuse may only be deposited within the refuse containers provided in the park.
Hunting or discharging firearms is prohibited within the park.
No person or entity shall erect any building, wharf or structure or place poles, posts, or foundations therefor, or do any digging of holes within the park without permission from the council.
Alcohol is prohibited in the park and in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
All pets must always be on a leash within the park. All pet owners must remove or clean up all pet waste.
There shall be no smoking inside any of the pavilions. Any person desiring to smoke tobacco or other legal substance shall smoke no less than six feet from any pavilion.
