State police at Rockview
- State police received a report about a domestic dispute Monday on Pine Glen Road in Burnside Township, Centre County. During the incident, a 65-year-old Karthaus woman allegedly strangled her husband, a 70-year-old Karthaus man. However, she told troopers that her husband punched her in the face, causing injury. State police say the man was charged with simple assault and harassment and the woman was charged with strangulation and harassment through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications Jan. 24 on Penn Tech Drive in Benner Township, Centre County. According to state police, a call was received alleging a local attorney in the Public Defender’s office was harassing a victim of a separate criminal mischief incident. State police noted the report said this has occurred multiple times, and the investigation is ongoing.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a domestic Tuesday in the Hyde area. Upon arrival on-scene, officers separated both parties and allegedly observed recent signs of physical injury on the victim. Police say a female is expected to be charged with harassment as a result of the incident.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report from a local business about several bad checks.
- Police received a report about a suspicious female on Filbert Street. According to police, the caller said the female was talking loudly and making strange motions. She was later located by police and taken into custody for public drunkenness.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with an individual in need of psychological care.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a Curwensville Commons resident.
- Police received a report about a reckless driver; however, they passed through Curwensville Borough before a traffic stop could be conducted.
- Police received a report about a possible stolen vehicle being driven in the Curwensville area.
- Police assisted a female who had medical issues with gaining entry into her apartment.
- Police received reports of abuse from a Fourth Avenue business.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle in Irvin Park; however, it was found there wasn’t any criminal activity.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of children along Schofield Street. Upon arrival, police spoke with adults on-scene and determined the children were safe.
Sandy Township
- On Friday police were contacted by the manager of Long John Silver’s regarding an alleged incident of harassment. He told police he was harassed continuously via text-messages by a 29-year-old DuBois man who had been fired earlier in the day. Additionally, he believed the man was under the influence. Officers handled the situation without further incident.
- On Friday police were contacted by a 40-year-old South Brady Street resident who reported hearing noises, which made her believe someone was breaking into her apartment. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate any evidence of an attempted break-in.
- On Saturday police were contacted by a 57-year-old Brookville man who reported that while his vehicle was parked at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, someone hit and damaged the passenger’s side rear door. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received an anonymous report about an underage party Saturday in a field off Hungry Hollow Road. However, officers were unable to locate the party.
- On Sunday police reported that a 30-year-old Grampian woman and a 41-year-old Treasure Lake man became involved in a dispute that turned physical because he left the woman at the bar and went back to his residence without telling her. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a DuBois woman who reported that there was a man in the parking lot of Fusion Buffet yelling at someone over the phone and also someone inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, an officer located the man who explained that his kids had started fighting and he was admonishing them. He was advised that he shouldn’t handle family situations loudly in a public setting.
