DUBOIS -The Northern Appalachian Film Collective (NAFCo) will present a series of short films, made by filmmaker Phoebe Frear, as part of its dinner and a movie series.

The event will be held Friday, March 13, beginning at 6 p.m. (upstairs) at the DuBois Diner, 50 W. Dubois Ave., # D, DuBois.

According to NAFCo, Frear has been part of the production crew for several feature-length motion pictures, and also runs her own video production company, Elephant Trunk Films, in Williamsport.

She will present Pretty Girl, a Keystone Ska Exchange music video (three minutes); Slow Decline, an Eric Val music video (five minutes); The Greatest Gift, a 48-hour film submission (five minutes); Moon and Raven, a story-based commercial (three minutes); Anarchy’s Son – Audiobox, a music video (four minutes); Apocalypse cookie (four minutes and 49 seconds); Williamsport’s Murals (five minutes and eight seconds); Love of Music from The Ground Floor (10:31); and Remember to Forget Me (26 minutes).

It was noted that the last film will involve human trafficking and drug use, and may be inappropriate for children under 13 years of age.

In addition, Frear will discuss the production of the films and answer audience questions.  A mixer will begin at 6 p.m., dinner orders will be taken at 6:30 p.m. and the film session will begin at 7:15 p.m.

There is no charge for the film screenings, and dinner may be purchased from the DuBois Diner.  However, donations to NAFCo will be accepted.

At the event, people can also discover how to become involved in the local film community and support local filmmaking. NAFCo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in DuBois with a purpose on the promotion of filmmaking in the Northern Appalachian region.
